The Wolmar story by Jukka Mildh
I have lived my entire life in the world of motorsport, quite literally born into it. For most of my career, I have worked in the Formula 1 series, which is an incredibly fast-paced and dynamic communication environment.
My work initially as a journalist, reporter and later as a driver manager has provided me with unique insights into communication and human interaction.
I have travelled to circuits and pit lanes around the world, but I have participated in races myself only a few times. When I have competed, I have been the co-driver, the navigator.
I am by their side, often behind them. I am the person whose task is to ensure the best possible conditions and to do my part so that talented individuals can maximise their performance.
The spark to help people, ignited as I travelled the world as a support figure for F1 drivers and simultaneously worked mostly with family-owned businesses. I realized how challenging the interaction between teams, employees and their leaders truly is. Becoming understood is a difficult sport.
Media work has been my other passion. I enjoy live broadcasting and public speaking. It is like a demanding sports performance where the adrenaline rush and success brings a feeling of great happiness. It has been a privilege to work in various forms of television and media houses for a long time over many years. I still serve as an expert for YLE Sports.
During my early career, the experienced professionals taught me a valuable lesson about storytelling: no viewer, listener, or reader will ever know what they missed. The lesson being: To be understood, keep the story short and focus in the essentials.
I leverage this valuable experience and insights I have gained meaningful role to help those who strive for success in their work or sport alongside their teammates.
It's about highly skilled individuals and the quality technology, resources, and tools at their disposal. And it's about realizing that victory cannot be achieved without excellent interaction.
I can easily and readily identify people's potential and their need to harness and maximize it. I courageously bring up matters, propose concrete actions, and ignite the first spark. My passion is to make talented and good people, as well as captivating and intriguing things, visible.
Trust, honesty, well doing and helping others are core values for me. "It's not what you do. It is how you do it." I have worked with internationally influential, exceptionally talented, and accomplished individuals on global stages for over 30 years.
My mentor, Keke Rosberg, F1 World Champion, is a pioneer in sports, media and industry influence. From him, I learned the significance of making an impact and how to do it in style.
Late Aki Hintsa, the respected doctor and coach, provided me with valuable lessons that performance is not about constantly pushing at maximum speed but about balancing different aspects of life.
From the ex-Ferrari boss, current CEO of the Formula 1 series, Stefano Domenicali, I learned how a successful team is built on pride in one's own work.
These are the things I want to promote for the benefit of others in my life and work - every day.
And Wolmar... When I was working with Nico Rosberg, the F1 World Champion, he started to call me by my middle name. Hearing the name more and more often, Nico made me realize that Wolmar is a pretty cool brand!
